At the Fox Run Vineyards 17th Annual Garlic Festival.

One of the summer season's most anticipated culinary events in Finger Lakes Wine Country is back for another year! Fox Run Vineyards Annual Garlic Festival, takes place at the winery over the weekend of August 1 & 2, 2009, 11-5 each day.

Garlic Food Tent
Our new Executive Chef, Heather Tompkins, and her staff have prepared a hearty, garlic fringed menu of Festival food available for purchase. We will offer suggestions for wine and food pairings for all the food offered at the festival:

The Hudson Valley Wine & Food Fest is a celebration of wine, food, music and fun all set within the beauty of the Hudson Valley. The Fest offers the opportunity to sample hundreds of wines from all over New York and the World, taste culinary delicacies from the Valley's best restaurants and caterers, learn the secrets of celebrity chefs and wine experts, as well as shop for gourmet specialty foods, fine crafts and listen to live music.

During the Fest weekend you can sample special dishes in the Gourmet Food Showcase and take part in lots of free cooking demonstrations and wine seminars. You can also enjoy live music while relaxing in our Music Tent.

100-Mile Radius Meals, Niagara County (Buffalo), NY, Beginning June, 2009

For the past century Becker Farms and Vizcarra Vineyards has harvested its own fruits and vegetables to provide fresh produce and a wide variety of value added products such as hand made pies, jams, cookies, cider, fudge and wines.

In the last two years Becker Farms has adopted a field to table approach with many of its catered events serving items grown and picked for the occasion right from the farm.

In an effort to increase consumer interest in local agriculture Becker Farms and Vizcarra Vineyards is pleased to announce 100 mile radius seasonal meals featuring farm fresh fruits, vegetables and other agricultural products from across Western New York or within 100 miles of the farm.

To introduce the 100 mile radius meals program there will be a press conference on June 4th at 4pm at Becker Farms and Vizcarra Vineyards. Featured Farms that will be present for the conference include the following:

Brooklyn Restaurant Week, Thru April 30, 2009

About 200 of Brooklyn’s best restaurants will be serving up three-course meals for discounted prices during the sixth annual “Dine in Brooklyn” event, which began on Monday and runs through April 2.

Three-course menus will run just $23 – and some eateries will be cooking up new “two-fer” brunch menus this year -- just $23 covers brunch for two -- as well as two-for-$23 lunch and dinner menus.

The growing list of participating restaurants includes some of the borough’s hottest, hippest and best-reviewed establishments. Diners will be able to choose culinary creations from every corner of the globe. Italian, French, Turkish, Asian, Moroccan, South African, Caribbean and, of course, American dishes will be served up Brooklyn style. What could be better?

Participating restaurants include Craig Samuel and Ben Grossman's new Bed-Stuy eatery Peaches, Park Slope staple Al Di La Trattatoria, Fort Greene hot spot The General Greene and brunch favorite Bubby's in Dumbo.
